Location: Eastside Oakhurst Maintenance Shop Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday through Friday; Weekend availability required Salary: $16.85 - $20.00/hr.; Depending on Qualifications

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old. High School graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Must have a valid CDL Class “B” Illinois Driver’s license, with a Class “A” being preferred. If no current CDL, must be able to obtain within three months of hire. Familiarity with Aurora and surrounding area highly desired. Previous experience driving large trucks and/or heavy equipment preferred. Previous grounds maintenance experience also preferred. An Illinois Pesticide Operator’s License is also required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Effective communication skills required with ability to supervise and/or train other staff. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, with overtime during prime seasons. Must be in good physical condition with ability to pass a pre-employment physical with drug screen. Ability to perform various duties outside in varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.

Duties: Under the direction and supervision of the Park Grounds Supervisor, the Garbage Truck Operator/Grounds Maintenance worker must be sufficiently skilled to operate the garbage truck and other heavy equipment as needed. Will perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks without supervision in addition to garbage truck duties. Other duties may include but not limited to; snow removal, trimming, mowing, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, etc. This position may be required to supervise/train part-time staff during peak season. This is an at-will position.
