Job Description: Responsible for trails, wetlands, and maintenance and ecological restoration of green spaces. Job requires knowledge of plants, prescriptive burns, use of assorted tools and trucks as well as snow plowing in winter.
Qualifications: Degree in natural resources, conservation, horticulture or related field. Two years of experience in a wide variety of outdoor manual labor projects, with natural resources preferred. Must be licensed by the State of Illinois as a Certified Pesticide Operator and have a Chicago Wilderness certificate or become certified within 6 months of employment with the Bolingbrook Park District. Candidate must have a valid driver's license.
Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and repair gravel and asphalt trails and pathways, perform ecological restoration through brush tree, prescription burns, and invasive management. Planting, weeding, and watering as well as collection of seeds. Maintain community gardens and Nature Plan areas and help with turf maintenance and snow removal as needed. Removal of trash, maintain vehicle, tools and equipment and submitting of daily work logs.
Classification: Full Time, non-exempt (hourly)
Pay Range: $13.53 to $15.02 an hour depending on experience

Hours: Normally Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm, but sometimes hours change due to an event, weather changes, projects or needs for the community.
