DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Superintendent of Recreation, plans, directs and evaluates IL-DCFS licensed program, recreation programs, events and staff. Embraces a team environment approach and assists with events not currently managing. Acts as a liaison to DCFS, DuPage County Health Department, and various other Village groups. Duties include but are not limited to oversight and management of DCFS licensed preschool and day care; early childhood programs and events; special events. Successful candidate must have good written and oral communication skills; must recruit, select, train and evaluate qualified staff; ensure that licensed programs comply with DCFS and the Health Department standards, evaluate all programs and events; purchase supplies and equipment according to Village’s purchasing guidelines; develop and manage budgets; prepare marketing materials and maintain center bulletin boards, display case, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or closely related field from an accredited college or university; minimum of two years experience working in an early childhood education setting. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel is a must) and have valid Illinois Driver’s License. Licensed Food Service Manager Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. Knowledge of RecTrac 3.1 preferred. Ability to work flexible hours that will include evenings and weekends from time to time.
