The Elmhurst Park District, a municipal governing agency located 16 miles west of Chicago, provides parks, recreation facilities and programs to meet our mission of enriching lives while having fun. We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team to create graphic designs, manage deadlines and creative/print processes, manage District on-line presence, manage key marketing vendor relationships and assist in marketing planning and promotion schedules.
Job Summary • Develop and maintain relationships and serve as contact for all printers (including bidding of Brochure Printing) and marketing vendors, serving as contact and coordinator for District advertising and promotion. • Be proficient with Constant Contact Software, developing templates for communications for enewsletters, eblasts, and any emailed District correspondence. • Maintain and manage the graphic aspects of the Elmhurst Park District websites and social media pages (EPD & Courts Plus) with content manager including producing ads, photos, calendar items, and event listings. • Assist in acquiring photos of facilities and programs for various media. • Provide creative campaign development for facilities and large programs including: Courts Plus Memberships, Sunbeams & Rainbows, Gymnastics, Wilder Mansion, The Hub, etc. • Prepare and design the four seasonal brochures in In Design. • Create District Literature/Pamphlets/Displays with consistent Brand Message including Fun Times, Annual Report, Trade Show Displays, Summer Camp Brochure and others as needed. • Produce creative graphic designs for visual communication media for District community events including flyers, postcards, posters, banners, pamphlets, ads and signage using desktop publishing systems in multi-platform environment. • Produce creative graphic designs for visual communication media as requested by program managers and Director including flyers, postcards, posters, banners, pamphlets, ads and signage using desktop publishing systems in multi-platform environment. • Design, prepare and order District promotional materials; IDs, business cards, name badges, customer and employee promotional pieces. • Coordinate, and appropriately manage deadlines for promotional needs of District and partner community events: Egg Hunt, Touch a Truck, Holiday Tree Lighting, Art In Wilder Park. • Develop schedule, coordinate department deadlines, communicate to all program managers, coordinating with printer and distributor to ensure on-time delivery of seasonal brochures.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field with 4 years experience in research writing, editing, desktop publishing and photography, proficiency in Macintosh and Windows desktop publishing systems and digital photography, and ability to create graphic design layouts for printed materials in a variety of styles and medium.
Hours This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
