The Village of South Elgin, IL is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Help Desk Technician in the Administrative Services Department. Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager, the Help Desk Position will provide computer hardware and software support to the Village’s computer users in all Village departments; provide advice and guidance to resolve a wide range of technology problems; train users in the operational use of technology products; assist in the implementation of technology upgrades; document problems and resolutions; and install new equipment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and database creation is desirable.
Qualifications include two years of workplace experience installing and troubleshooting personal computer hardware and software systems preferably in a Windows domain environment; and an Associate’s degree or equivalent technical school credential in computer science, information technology, or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime may be required. The Village offers an excellent compensation and benefit package with a starting salary of $52,777.
