Responsibilities include teaching (privates and groups for adults and juniors) plus administrative duties to provide the highest level of customer service in addressing needs of lesson participants and members of the club.
DUTIES: • Plan and teach tennis classes as assigned by Program Manager • Manage private lesson and private group lesson registrations to confirm all payments are submitted • Maintain high participation of each class • Coordinate, promote and manage travel teams • Meet and greet clients to promote classes, leagues and special events • Create ideas for promotional materials and work cooperatively with Program Manager to submit seasonal information to the marketing department • Generate appropriate lesson plans for every class, team drill or event and review the results with the Program Manager after each session • Prepare bi-weekly payroll and submits to the Program Manager for processing • Promote pro shop sales, special programs and lessons at the club; assist management in conducting special events or promotional programs
QUALIFICATIONS: United States Professional Tennis Association or Professional Tennis Registry Certification, NTRP rating of 4.5 or better; good knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of tennis instruction; ability to supervise tennis students of various skill levels in a class setting; and capacity to provide a high level of customer service to members and program participants. Minimum of two years’ experience teaching tennis in a club setting. Must be trained and have experience teaching the 10AndUnder QuickStart Tennis format. Must have an energetic and outgoing personality and a genuine love for tennis. CPR/AED certification must be completed within first 4 months of employment. Proficient in word, publisher, and excel preferred.
HOURS: A combination of daytime, evening and weekend hours is required, based on programming and operational needs.
Position includes teaching commission $25 - $38 per hour based on qualifications and experience. Benefit package available to qualified staff teaching a minimum of 1,425 hours per year (includes health & dental insurance, IMRF (pension plan), tennis apparel, etc.).
