Responsible for performing various routine and preventive maintenance tasks related to facilities, grounds, and equipment throughout the district.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in maintenance repair and construction field preferred. Must have good communication, interpersonal, and time management skills and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Attendance at work site as scheduled; must be available to work other shifts and overtime as required.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance and repairs to district lands, facilities, and equipment.
Makes and maintains ice rinks and assists with snow removal.
Install, maintain, and repair general landscape improvements throughout the district.
Install, maintain, and repair sports fields throughout the district.
Assist with seasonal operations and special projects.
Assist with custodial tasks at all district facilities and grounds.
Maintain effective two-way communication with immediate supervisors and assigned staff about concerns in the field.
Assists in training and supervising seasonal and part-time staff as assigned.
Communicate professionally with coworkers and the public.
Wear personal protective equipment for job function when needed.
Carry two way or cell phone communication at all times while working.
Contribute to a feedback rich environment.
Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.
Must have and maintain: a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; and CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment.
Must be able to: continuously move about the facility and position one’s self to perform maintenance; occasionally ascend/descend stairs/ladder, repetitive use of hands/arms, vibration and grasping while working with tools and equipment, and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and over with assistance, eye/hand coordination, and fine manipulation; occasionally walk on uneven ground. Must be able to drive.
Must be able to: handle all weather conditions while traveling between facilities, frequently encounter rain, snow, biting/stinging bugs and insects, dirt, poisonous plants, grease, oil, mud; occasional confined spaces, heights over 12 feet, fumes, gases, odors, dust, mold, animal hair, dander, feces, noise over 85 dbls, wet, slippery floors and surfaces; rarely encounter pesticides, chemicals and smoke.
Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Plus, additional nights and weekends as required.
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour, DOQ
