Lisle Park District is seeking a Superintendent of Recreation to oversee the operations and services provided by the Community Park Fitness Center, Sea Lion Aquatic Park, Lisle Station Museum and Recreation Center.

Major responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Administers the planning, development and implementation of all recreational programming. Studies and evaluates the recreational needs of the community through the use of surveys, patron evaluations, focus groups and research of recreational trends. Oversees the proper operation of the Community Park Fitness Center, Sea Lion Aquatic Park, Lisle Station Museum and Recreation Center. Works with administration to evaluate staffing and volunteer requirements. Develops recruitment strategies. Hires, trains, manages and evaluates subordinate employees in accordance with Lisle Park District Employee Handbook. Oversees Recreation Programming staff to ensure consistency and efficiency in delivering services and dealing with the public. Promotes relationships with organizations and businesses that promote the goals of the park district and its recreational facilities, programs and special events. Recommends sources of alternative revenues through grants, collaborative relationships with other community groups, and vendors. Prepares, submits and oversees an annual budget plan for all areas of responsibility. Monitors revenue and expenses of facilities in addition to making long-range recommendations for capital expenditures. Conducts staff training in the areas of recreation programming and recreation policy and procedure development.
Requirements: Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word/Excel and Recreation programming software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Requires expertise typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation with an emphasis in park district management (masters preferred). CPRP preferred. A minimum of five years progressive, park district work related experience required.
Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing and vision ability, excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally and a negligible amount frequently.
