The Building Custodial Supervisor supports our award-winning Sachs Recreation Center. The 100,000 square foot Sachs Recreation Center is an ideal space for community-based fitness, wellness and sports activities for all ages. The center features a state-of-the-art fitness center with 5 lane walking track, lap swimming pool, 3 hardwood gymnasiums, 2 tennis courts, racquetball court, gymnastics arena, 5 specialty fitness studios and full-service locker rooms. We are looking for hard working, caring people that support our mission.

The Building Custodial Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of the center. This primarily includes locker rooms, common areas, gymnasiums, fitness studios, tennis courts, meeting rooms, offices and swimming pool. Assigns work, supervises part-time building custodians and takes an active role in daily maintenance activities in accordance with responsibilities outlined. Performs towel laundering, painting, room set-ups for programs and events and other light maintenance work throughout the facility. Hours:

Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position. Typical Hours are M – F, 11am – 7:30pm. Weekend as needed.

Rate of Pay: $21.00//hr. - $23.00/hr. depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefit package.

Qualifications:

One to three years of general building maintenance experience.

Thrives working within a team environment and appreciates the chance to collaborate.

Desire to provide high-quality experiences and facilities to the community.

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, coupled with strong communication skills, having the ability to represent the Deerfield Park District in a professional manner.

Ability to obtain a Certified Pool Operator’s License within six months of employment.

An awareness of and contributing to a culture of safety by using good judgment, following safety and ergonomic policies and protocols, reporting unsafe conditions, and following manufacturer safety instructions.

Minimum High School Graduate or equivalent.
