Recreation and Parks Director—Recreation Department—Full-Time

Palos Park with a population of (4,899) is currently seeking a full-time Recreation and Parks Director to manage and direct the activities and facilities of community-based recreation activities and programs. The Director will be an integral part of the Village’s administrative team reporting to the Village Manager. The Director will develop and promote a broad spectrum of diverse activities and services for all segments, groups, ages and interest levels of the community which includes large areas of unincorporated areas. Current facilities include one recreation building and the corresponding grounds known as The Village Green; and Centennial Park. Qualified candidates will be dynamic leaders who demonstrate a passion for recreation, parks and the community; they will communicate a clear vision that builds on the quality of staff, volunteers, programs and amenities. Must be detail oriented and self-motivated; must possess the ability to consistently provide the highest levels of customer service. Experience in planning and executing top quality community special events a must. BA/BS in Parks and Recreation or related field with a minimum five years of responsible administrative or supervisory experience in the field of recreation and parks required; Certified Park and Recreation Professional preferred. Salary DOQ, minimum $72,000 plus a generous benefit package.
