 The anticipated starting salary range is $38,875 - $43,735 +/- DOQ, with the range maximum at $58,313. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.

Summary of Role:

Come join the team at a gold medal award-winning park district! We are looking for an innovative, creative, detail-oriented, excellent communicator to work in our thriving Customer Service and Registration Department. Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, the Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for essential customer service duties in order to provide high quality service to our external and internal customers. This is a full-time, nonexempt, benefits eligible position. Core hours for this position will be Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Due to the nature of park district programming, some early morning, evening, weekend and holiday hours are to be expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer telephones and manage a multi-line telephone system

• Assist patrons at the counter – answering questions, providing registration assistance, and general information on all Park

District programs, facilities, and procedures

• Process registrations and monthly billing payments

• Perform general clerical duties such as folding, stuffing, preparing mass mailings and proofreading brochures

• Facilitate park permits and donations

• Provide administrative support to the Director of Parks and Planning as well as the Director of Recreation and Facilities

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Associate’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and prior work experience. The chosen candidate will hold current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or obtain certification within six months of hire.

Experience:

1-3 years office experience, with prior experience in providing exceptional customer service and working with the public preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Successful applicants will possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, and customers in person and via telephone in a professional, friendly manner. Other requirements include advanced organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of office procedures and most office equipment. Good understanding of computer programs (including Microsoft Word and Excel), the ability to type, and familiarity with computers and email are essential. Knowledge of RecTrac recreation software is a plus, but not required.
