 Range Per Hour DOQ - $20.00 to $29.80

Location: Cole Administration Center, 101 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora, IL 60506 Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am – 4:30 pm, occasional evenings and weekends to address emergent issues and/or special projects. Salary: Range Per Hour DOQ - $20.00 to $29.80

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and reliable, with extensive mechanical knowledge and instinct to troubleshoot and repair plumbing related equipment. High school diploma or GED required. An Associate’s degree or trade school certificate is highly desired, High School graduate or equivalent with at least three years aquatic facility maintenance experience required. Supervisory experience required as well as certification in Aquatics Facility Operations (AFO) and/or a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) within six (6) months of hire. Effective communication skills required with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Proficient problem solving, analysis and project management skills are essential. Must be in good physical condition in order to perform a variety of manual tasks in various weather conditions including high heat and humidity or extreme cold. Will be required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Must also be able to work flexible hours with overtime during prime seasons. Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Duties: Under the direction and supervision of the Facilities & Trades Manager, the Senior Facilities & Trades Technician is responsible for supervising and leading the completion of various plumbing, mechanical and aquatic maintenance and repairs. May serve as the contact for emergency situations that affect the District’s ability to open for business. Additionally, the Facilities Technician will assess and consider daily 1) the safety of our employees and participants, 2) the security of our assets and 3) the service to our customers. The employee shall collaborate with all departments within the District including Recreation, IT, Finance and Planning. This is an at-will position.
