Position Overview: The Operations Manager assists with the management of Maggie Daley Park operations through implementation of operational procedures, conducting quality assurance walkthroughs, adherence and enforcement of MB Real Estate and Maggie Daley Park policies and procedures. The Operations Manager will report to the SVP/General Manager of Maggie Daley Park and must be able to work various shifts including nights and weekends.


•Supervise various MB Real Estate subcontractors; conduct operational meetings with subcontractors

•Implement new and existing park policies

•Conduct daily operational walkthroughs and inspections

•Coordinate and track Key Watcher system and usage

•Manage security and custodial contract compliance; Ensure cleaning, security and operational standards are implemented daily

•Evaluate and rebid contracts for park operations to maximize savings and service •Manage mini golf concessionaire

•Oversee staff on emergency situations such as medical emergencies, evacuations or park closures

•Evaluate situations and act accordingly to maintain the safety of park patrons and park employees

•Coordinate AED/CPR training for park staff

•Conduct Playground High Frequency Inspections

•Act as a representative agent for the Chicago Park District

•Track Material Safety Data Sheets

•Assist and communicate with Private Events team

•Work with other departments to ensure the park functions effectively

•Manage Locker and Sound Systems

•Track lost and found items and respond to inquiries

•Coordinate and oversee all building and equipment maintenance

•Operate and manage Park Irrigation System


•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/education required

•2+ years of previous hospitality, operations and/or management experience

•Experience working with a broad range of constituencies, including a highly diverse general public

•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Ability to handle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, establish workflow priorities and work independently

•Prior employment history demonstrating the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities, and produce accurate results in a highly-organized manner

•Ability to lead and motivate staff members

•Proficiency in Microsoft based software

•Experience working with Excel and financial reporting preferred
