Streamwood Park District is seeking a Superintendent of Recreation who is a team player and leader to manage all aspects of the Recreation Department while supporting the goals and initiatives of the park district, including providing quality programs and services to the community.
The Superintendent of Recreation will develop a business plan for the department that includes, but is not limited to member services, general programs, aquatics, museum, athletics, fitness, special events and programs. The Superintendent will develop, implement and manage the budget, programs and services for the Recreation Department and work collaboratively with the Marketing Department to market those programs and services. The Superintendent will manage the staff and set employee goals as well as work collaboratively with other departments and employees. This is an on-call position.
We are seeking candidates that have:
•Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Public Administration, Park Administration, or related field.
•Minimum of 5-7 years of full time experience in related field.
•Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years of full time experience managing staff, special facilities and developing recreation programs and services.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
•Must have a valid driver’s license.
•Must be Red Cross CPR and AED certified within 6 months of hiring.
•Preference given to candidates with Incode 10 and RecTrac or ability to become proficient within 6 months of hiring.
•Preference given to candidates with business planning or facility/programming net revenue generating experience.
•Preference given to candidates with CPRP or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hiring (or as outlined in the qualification of obtain a CPRP).
•Preference given to candidates with Illinois Food Sanitation Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hiring.
•Compensation is based upon qualifications and the benefit package includes IMRF, health, dental, vision, vacation, holidays, personal, sick leave as well as additional benefits.
