DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Finance & HR, the Human Resources Specialist is responsible for maintaining and administering the Bensenville Park District’s personnel policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to maintain information on a confidential basis. This position is also responsible for assisting in personnel recruitment, employee relations and compliance with Federal and State labor laws and coordination of training.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Oversee process for hiring employees, including background checks. • Coordinate needs and requests of employees with appropriate staff • Enroll eligible employees in health and other insurance plans, pension plan and other programs. • Facilitate, schedule and track training for the Park District’s staff. • Create and revise as necessary all job descriptions. • Coordinate disciplinary process and review all disciplinary action. • Oversee the implementation process for performance evaluations of employees. • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred • Knowledge of human resources trends and issues, procedures, and policies • Minimum of three years’ experience in the field of Human Resources • Must have strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with coworkers • Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office
JOB STATUS: Permanent Part time DEPARTMENT: Finance & Human Resources FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY: $18.00 to $24.00 HOURS: 9:00 to 2:00 Monday through Friday
