Location: La Grange, IL

Main Responsibilities: The Membership and Website Manager is a full time, non-exempt position, who is responsible for working with staff and members to manage membership recruitment, retention, and renewal processes, along with managing day to day member/customer service. This position also oversees website and database content management and oversees the conference mobile app. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. • Minimum two years’ experience in a professional office setting, preferably with previous experience in an association/non-profit environment. • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, management, and customer service skills are required.
• Willing and able to occasionally work beyond the traditional hours. • Ability to travel for short business trips including one week each January. • Advanced PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet search engines, and ability and willingness to learn new software and programs as required. • Experience with member database and website management preferred. • Must be a self-starter and highly dependable. • Ability to relate in a positive manner with a variety of personality types.

Compensation and Benefits • Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00-4:30, working on site at the office in La Grange. While a 40-hour work week will be the norm, occasionally overtime will be expected. • IPRA offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance (after 30 days on the job) for the employee and their family. Currently, IPRA pays for 95% of the employee’s insurance premiums and 90% of the family premiums. This is subject to change. • IPRA provides short term disability insurance, long term disability insurance, and life insurance. • In the 401K program, IPRA will match one-for-one up to the first 2.5% of the employee’s salary that the employee contributes to his or her account. Additionally, IPRA currently contribute 5% of the employee’s annual salary to the plan. • IPRA offers 12 vacation days a year (accruing throughout the year), 2 personal days per year, 12 sick days per year (accruing throughout the year), 11 paid holidays, and 2 floating paid holidays per year. • IPRA offers opportunities for professional development. • Once given, the offer of employment will be contingent upon the individual's successful completion of a drug test, criminal background check, reference check, and driver’s license abstract review. • IPRA is an equal opportunity employer.

Our association: Established in 1944, the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s (IPRA) mission is to provide and promote exceptional standards of education, networking, and resources for all professionals in the Illinois park, recreation, and conservation communities. IPRA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Our members are the individual professionals in the park and recreation industry in Illinois. IPRA is a small staff of eight people.
