SEASPAR (the South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation) is a special recreation association providing year-round recreational programs and services to residents with disabilities in the following communities in Illinois: Brookfield, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Indian Head Park, La Grange, La Grange Park, Lemont, Lisle, Western Springs, Westmont, and Woodridge. SEASPAR offers year-round programming for all ages and all disabilities, including: weekly social, artistic, cultural, and fitness programs; special events and trips; Special Olympics training; adapted sports; the Wonders Multi-Sensory Room; and much more!

SEASPAR is currently seeking an energetic, creative, and flexible candidate for our Marketing Coordinator position, which is responsible for developing and overseeing all activities related to the promotion and awareness of SEASPAR programs and services.

Duties

Develop, oversee, and implement public awareness/marketing strategies.

Analyze effectiveness of public awareness/marketing strategies and adjust as necessary.

Maintain and implement SEASPAR’s Integrated Marketing Plan.

Develop, maintain, and implement SEASPAR’s Editorial and Graphic Style guide.

Coordinate the purchasing of marketing materials and services including being the liaison with vendors, writing specifications and securing quotes, troubleshooting, and following through on proofs, printing, and delivery.

Develop and manage the marketing and printing budgets and expenditures.

Oversee the planning, production, and delivery of the SEASPAR’s seasonal program guides, including development of the guides in-house using Adobe Creative Suite.

Manage the production and distribution of the SEASPAR’s Annual Report, including development of the report in-house using Adobe Creative Suite.

Develop and maintain general information and special program brochures and other marketing materials (flyers, trifolds, banners, etc.) as needed.

Manage the production of stationary (letterhead, envelopes, etc.) and staff business cards.

Develop and distribute all press releases, public service announcements, and paid advertisements. Create ad layouts in-house using Adobe Creative Suite.

Initiate and maintain working relationships with the media.

Oversee the development and maintenance of SEASPAR’s website using content management software (WordPress) to administer changes; manage the online registration interface in RecTrac.

Perform search engine optimization activities, and develop and manage search engine marketing campaigns (e.g., Google Ads).

Produce and send electronic newsletters using email marketing software (Constant Contact); manage the email list.

Manage SEASPAR’s presence on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, and LinkedIn; develop and manage paid social media advertising campaigns.

Work cooperatively with member entities in publicizing SEASPAR services via their seasonal program guides, newsletters, and other opportunities.

Chair SEASPAR’s Outreach Committee and coordinate opportunities to promote SEASPAR through member entity events, community events, school/transition fairs, employment fairs, and other events.

Publicize SEASPAR activities through community resources such as newsletters, marquee signs, libraries, electronic bulletin boards, cable TV calendar, etc.

Maintain cameras, and photograph and video library.

Take photographs at programs and events, and edit photos as needed for print and digital use.

Take videos at programs and events, and develop polished videos for digital use and presentations.

Maintain and update digital signage, display board, display cases, banners, signage, and other display equipment and materials.

Assist staff with development of materials (packets, flyers, presentations) to expand relationships with community contacts and potential supporters and participants.

Assist staff with fundraising and donor acquisition and recognition.

Submit and update information for resource directories.

Assist with SEASPAR events and other community events as appropriate and necessary.

Perform additional duties related to the position as assigned.

Assist in maintaining the agency safety program.

Work Schedule and Location

The typical hours for the Marketing Coordinator are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. However, attendance at evening and weekend programs and events is frequent and required. This position’s primary workplace is located at SEASPAR’s remote site at the Darien Sportsplex. Frequent travel between the primary workplace and the main SEASPAR office in Downers Grove is required.

Required Education and Experience

The Marketing Coordinator should be graduated from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or other related field. The Marketing Coordinator must have a minimum of two years of successful full-time experience in public relations or marketing.

The ability to work independently, solve problems, and convey a positive attitude to others.

Experience working with the media and ability to effectively disseminate information via print, broadcast, and electronic communication.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and other related software.

Experience updating/maintaining websites using content management system (WordPress).

Experience developing, scheduling, and posting content to organizational social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).

Experience developing and designing content for email marketing (Constant Contact).

The ability to interact with the SEASPAR staff, parents, and staff representing member entities, and other community agencies and organizations.

The ability to be flexible in all aspects of job responsibility.

Essential Functions

Must be able to sit 70% of the workday. Must be able to carry supplies up to 35 lbs. for up to 100 feet. Must have the ability to use telephone, computer, and office equipment and access files in cabinets. Must have mobility to move from one facility to another during the workday.

Condition of Employment

The Marketing Coordinator must be a licensed driver, provide and insure his/her own car and use his/her own car for SEASPAR business, and pass the pre-placement physical.

Compensation

In exchange for your time and talent, this position offers competitive compensation with a starting salary of $48,500-$60,500 based on experience and qualifications, in addition to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan, medical and dependent flexible spending account, paid time off (including holiday, vacation, personal, and sick), and tuition reimbursement.
