We have an exciting FULL-TIME job opportunity as Program Supervisor - Racquet Sports at Courts Plus - a community facility! We are looking for the right candidate to lead one of the top racquet sports programs in the Chicagoland area. Strong organizational and program planning skills combined with an excellent customer service philosophy are required. Someone with experience in ACTIVE Registration system preferred. 
 
WHAT YOU’LL DO: As Program Supervisor, you will supervise the operation of racquet sports area! Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate staff
  • Monitor financial comparison report to make recommendations & changes
  • Develop pricing and fee structures for private groups, leagues, tournaments, classes, and courts
  • Monitor court sheets for accuracy, payment, and court management
  • Conduct price and product comparisons for the highest quality and best price
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors for supplies and equipment
  • Act as a liaison between customer, registration, and administration
  • Asses club environment to maintain a safe atmosphere
  • Create, prepare, edit and proof programs for brochure
  • Plan, promote and implement programs on a seasonal basis
  • Manage special program registration and events
  • Develop, implement, schedule, evaluate and supervise programs and events to meet needs of members
  • Instruct tennis lessons when pros are unavailable
  • Administer all in-house, travel teams, and USTA leagues
  • Complete necessary paperwork to add new classes, transfer participants and issue refunds
  • Develop and update program curricula for all tennis and pickleball lessons

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
  • Bachelor's degree in health related field, or equivalent work experience with 4 years experience and 2 year supervisory experience
  • Teaching experience/USTA certification preferred
  • Valid IL Drivers License 
  • Ability to operate ball machine
  • Proficiency in computer word-processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Proven problem-solving, communication, organizational, customer service and management skills

WHEN YOU’LL WORK:
This is a full-time position, expectation to work 40-hours/week. Schedule varies and includes weekday evening and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY
The Recreation Supervisor is an administrative position currently located at 5 Ashlawn Avenue, Montgomery, Illinois. The Recreation Supervisor reports directly to the Recreation Manager and the Superintendent of Recreation. Responsibilities include the recruitment and training of staff, development and management of high quality, competitive and recreational, athletic programs designed for children and adults.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitate the administration, supervision, planning, personnel, and operation of the District's athletics programming.
  • Manage personnel administration.
  • Communicate with, but not limited to, staff, volunteers, participants, and parents.
  • Maximize the effective use of facilities, parks and athletic fields for programs and activities.
  • Develop relationships with individuals, groups, businesses, agencies within the community and profession, including local and regional sports groups and affiliates.
  • Develop and implement ongoing analysis and evaluation program and service.
  • Develop of annual budget for the program areas supervised.
  • Contribute to the coordination of the annual community festival.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Management or equivalent experience.
  • Background or experience in area of athletics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Work independently and as a team member of the administrative staff and work groups as assigned.

The Park Ridge Park District is seeking a team member who will be responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining and evaluating a broad spectrum of general recreation programs including dance, music, theater along with general recreation programs, events and trips for teens along with summer camps to meet community needs.  Selected individual will recruit, train, supervise, evaluate and coach part-time staff and volunteers according to the policies and procedures of the Park Ridge Park District. This position also coordinates the district-wide apparel bid and the American Camp Association Accreditation.

 
Qualifications: Requires two to three years of full-time experience in recreation programming for dance, music and teens. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work within a fast-paced team environment with individuals of varying ages. An intermediate level of written and verbal communication in the English language is required as well as Microsoft Office Software. Knowledge of RecTrac Registration System, Paycom payroll system and MSI finance software a plus. Must be CPR/AED and First-Aid instructor certified or have the ability to become certified (through the Park District) within 12 months of hire date. A valid Illinois Driver’s License is required in order to drive a District vehicle.

 
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports and Tourism or related field. Certified Park and Recreation Professional preferred.

 
Availability:  
  • Typical work-week is Monday through Friday with an approximate schedule of 8:30am – 4:30pm.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are frequent and to be expected based on the needs of the programs and events. 
  • A minimum of three to four District wide events each year
  • Selected individual is expected to be on duty whenever the need exists.

NATURE OF WORK:
Under the guidance of the Division Manager or their designate, the Part-Time Facilities Supervisor at the Levy Senior Center is primarily responsible for clerical and administrative tasks associated with daily operations. This role involves ensuring efficient office support, program coordination, and maintenance of the facility's interior and exterior.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Specific assignment will include some or all of the following):
●             Provide direct customer service during shifts, including administrative tasks and program support such as cash handling, processing registrations, preparing bank deposits, and engaging with the public.
●             Assists in the administrative duties of Senior Services Division Special Events
●             Perform light custodial duties such as cleaning restrooms, and windows, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
●             Assist in room setups/breakdowns, including AV equipment, and maintain the facility's presentable appearance.
●             Supervise and maintain orderliness in the building and grounds, including occasional outside supervision.
●             Provide administrative and technical guidance when necessary, including office supervision and handling patron inquiries.
●             Assist in scheduling facility usage, and monitoring in-house programs, and room rental agreements.
●             Assist in snow and debris removal from sidewalks and property walkways.
●             Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for scheduled activities.
●             Maintain supplies and equipment inventories.
●             Address unsafe conditions and report needed repairs promptly.
●             Assist in accident/incident reporting and handle customer relations issues.
●             Provide public customer service and dispute resolution as needed.
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
●                    High school diploma or GED.
●                    Three or more years of clerical/administrative experience, including two or more years of supervisory experience.
●                    Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
●                    Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within six months of employment.
 
Knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
●                    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
●                    Knowledge of the hazards and precautions of the equipment and chemicals used.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:  
Ability to work in confined spaces and to work safely around operating equipment
●              Ability to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
●              Ability to work outdoors, occasionally, in various weather conditions such as extreme cold, high winds, rain, snow, sleet, high temperatures, and humidity.
●              Ability to perform heavy manual labor including, but not limited to, lifting heavy objects, climbing, sitting or standing for long periods; bending, crawling, identifying or distinguishing colors, recognizing the depth of objects, focus on small or distant objects, talk and hear.
●              Frequently exposed to dangerous equipment, loud noises, vibrations, dust, dirt and odors.

SUPERVISION:
Work is performed under the general direction/supervision of the Division  Manager or their designee.  Assignments may vary from season to season and day to day.  Assignments can be either verbal or written, with the employee determining proper procedure and work methods and is responsible for completing the work according to City work rules and safety regulations.  Work is reviewed through ongoing observation, written and verbal communication, meetings, and feedback from supervisors and other department employees.  Guidance is provided through rules and regulations, policies and procedures, Unified Work Rules, Union Contract, Personnel Rules, and OSHA. Work is evaluated at least annually for the safe and skilled operation of equipment, quality of tasks, adherence to work rules, and performance per this classification standard.
 

PUBLIC CONTACT:
The employee will have contact with the general public in city-owned buildings.  The employee may need to respond to questions and complaints and provide general direction to the public; the employee has regular contact with other City employees to share information and complete work assignments.
