We are currently looking for a Full-Time Aquatics Supervisor - Programs to join our extraordinary team.

Under the direction of the Manager of Aquatics, the Aquatics Supervisor – Programs is responsible for all Aquatic operations at the Recreation Center of Highland Park indoor pool and Hidden Creek Aqua Park outdoor pool. The Aquatics Supervisor – Programs has complete oversight of the Learn to Swim Program, private swim lessons, camp swim lessons, and Aquatics Summer After Camp. The Aquatics Supervisor – Programs will work collaboratively with the Lakefront Aquatics Supervisor and be responsible for cross training staff to work at both outdoor operations.

The Aquatics Supervisor Lakefront directly supervises full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees within the Aquatics area, including but not limited to lifeguard supervisors, lifeguards, swimming instructors and additional support staff as needed.

The Westmont Park District located in Westmont, IL has an opening for a Preschool Instructor. The District serves approximately 25,000 residents with over 155 acres of parks, a 9 hole golf course, fitness center and offers over 1,000 programs each year.
 
DESCRIPTION:
Primary responsibility is to ensure that all persons have a safe and enjoyable experience while visiting or using the Westmont Park District facilities. 
 
Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, the instructor is responsible for the planning, organization, schedules, child instruction, and all aspects of the Preschool classes they teach.   
 
This is a an exciting opportunity to be a part of preschool program creation from the ground up at the district's new Park Place facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meet the District’s Mission and Vision.
  • Responsible for planning, developing and implementing a preschool program that promotes the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of preschool aged children. 
  • Meet with and report to Recreation Coordinator on a regular basis to share schedules, successes, challenges, needs and observations of the preschool program.
  • Set up and clean up classroom before and after each day.
  • Maintain records of attendance, accidents, and injuries. 
  • Prepare a daily routine for the students. 
  • Report on time ready to open the building, setup daily lessons and greet all children in the morning drop off line at the front door.
  • Keep informed on current early childhood teaching trends.
  • Work with the Recreation Coordinator to ensure supplies and equipment remain in a safe and workable condition.
  • Adhere to the program budgeting limits.
  • Seek guidance and approval regarding unexpected budget needs.
  • Perform any additional related tasks as required or assigned.
  • Under the guidance of the Recreation Coordinator establish lesson plans based on the districts curriculum. 
  • Request supplies in a reasonable time frame.
  • Effectively communicate realistic needs and expectations for the preschool program.
  • Adhere to District’s safety and personnel policies.
  • Report any and all challenges, policy questions, safety or conduct matters to the Recreation Coordinator immediately.

HOURS
This is a part time position generally, 8:30 am – 12:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Hours could, and will increase, if afternoon preschool becomes established. Additional limited hours for class prep, required continuing education, parent teacher conferences, staff meetings and assigned special events.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Comprehensive knowledge of youth and Early Childhood Educational programming.  Must possess the ability to speak in public and good written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills, proficient with Word, Publisher, Excel, and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Have received a high school diploma, and has received a minimum of a 2 year degree in Early Childhood or 2 years of related field experience of the early childhood programs/preschool classes taught.

The Opportunity: We have an opening for the Manager on Duty role at the Recreation Center/4500 Fitness Center! The Manager on Duty is responsible for the management of the building operations in the absence of the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation during their regular shift. The Manager on Duty provides excellent customer service to guests by greeting visitors and answering inquiries, processes all fitness related transactions, and supports and coordinates the programs of the Recreation Center.

A Day in the Life: 
  • Close the Recreation Center building during each scheduled shift
  • Follow building schedule to set up and take down equipment for programs and rentals
  • Ensure all programs and activities in the facility are operating in an efficient, safe and professional manner
  • Sell and accurately complete fitness transactions such as daily passes, punch passes, personal training sessions and fitness memberships
  • Conduct daily building inspections for cleanliness to ensure the Recreation Center is meeting District expectations including stacking weights, thorough and regular cleaning of equipment and fitness area, and tidying up the exercise area
  • Perform custodial and maintenance duties, as needed, to assist the Recreation Center custodian or in the absence of the custodian, including restocking restrooms, removing garbage, cleaning spills, cleaning windows, minor snow removal, and reporting maintenance repair needs
  • Enforce all facility rules in a professional and polite manner
  • Answer guest questions in a friendly manner and ensure that members and guests scan at the front desk prior to using the facility
  • Respond to guest concerns and resolve differences that arise between patrons and/or District employees
  • Actively respond and lead staff and patrons during emergencies such as: fire, weather, conflict, or injuries
 
About you: 
  • High School Diploma, preferred
  • Previous experience working in a Park District, Recreation or Athletics facility, preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to perform physical activities which requires moderate to frequent lifting, standing, balancing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling materials
  • Able to work with computers and systems to set up functions, enter data, and process information

Gold medal awarding-winning Glencoe Park District seeks an experienced Full-Time Assistant Director of Human Resources, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Finance/HR. The Assistant Director of Human Resources is responsible for strategically managing the District’s human resources function, including administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs including training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development and employment.  GENERAL PURPOSE:         
The BASE (Before & After School Experience) & Camp Supervisor is responsible, in conjunction with the BASE & Camp Manager, for the administration for assigned facilities and all BASE and camp programs including assigned services and projects. The employee follows the overall goals and objectives, activities, services, policies, and procedures as prescribed by the BASE and Camp Manager.  The employee will be held accountable for providing customers a functional, attractive, safe, and accessible BASE and camp experience within limitations in the resources made available. The employee is also evaluated in terms of program management 
and quality of customer service.
 
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS: 
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood-oriented, recreation or closely related field preferred.  Must have good oral and written communication skills.  Certified in CPR and First Aid is required within first 90 days of hire. Should have a valid Illinois Driver’s License.  Must be proficient at basic computer word processing software. Experience operating before and after school programs, camps or an equivalent combination of education and experience is strongly preferred.

 
 PROGRAM OPERATIONS: 
·  Within established district goals, objectives, policies and procedures, plans and administers assigned BASE programs,        special events, camps and services.
·  Monitors the performance of BASE and camp program operations and assigned facilities.
·  Monitors activity of participants and staff to ensure adherence to all safety rules and regulations. Park District and School facilities.
·  Responsible for motivating staff to improve their work performance.
·  Responsible for aesthetic appearance of all facilities in which BASE and camp programs are being programed and make sure equipment and supplies are in good working order.
·  Constantly reviews and monitors facilities and make recommendations as to needed improvements.
·  Evaluates the effectiveness of all services used and makes recommendations to the BASE and Camp Manager as well as the Director of Recreation.
·  Prepares yearly, monthly, quarterly and periodic special reports, as required by the BASE and Camp Manager and the Director of Recreation.
·  Provides feedback from staff and participants to BASE and Camp Manager.
·  Seeks, interprets, and implements input from the public, schools and staff
·  Maintains required records. Staff training hours, student attendance, etc.
·  Makes day to day recommendations for facility improvements.
·  Responsible for helping in promoting and executing fundraising events
·  Assists in the execution of Park District special events.
·  Plans, prepares and/or facilitates meetings and trainings with BASE and staff meetings.
·  Drives 15 passenger bus for programing as required.
 
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT:
·  Recruits, interviews, selects, and supervises part-time personnel, within the BASE and Day Camp programs, in consultation with the BASE and Camp Manager and Director of Recreation.  Communicates with all personnel and renders decisions associated with employment and related activities within the department.
·  Nurtures culture of the program in a manner that promotes open and frequent communication among employees. Fosters teamwork to address and accomplish the desired goals of the program and agency.
·  Evaluates employees’ performance by completing regular evaluations.  Responsible for overall supervision of employees and hold employees accountable for meeting deadlines.
·  Provides all subordinates with specific guidelines and task instructions as necessary to ensure program effectiveness.
·  Monitors all aspects of the BASE and Day Camp programs to ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and all other district human resource policies, procedures, and regulations.  Any unusual or unprecedented human resource or personnel occurrence or situation shall be quickly brought to the attention of the BASE and Camp Manager, ensuring that all proper documentation is followed as prescribed by the district’s policies.
 
FISCAL MANAGEMENT:
·  Assists in the budget planning, development of long-term planning/goals and program ideas and improvements.
·  Communicates routinely with the BASE and Camp Manager in monthly bills, purchases and receipts
·  Develops additional programs/events within the Recreation Department.
·  Maintains a fiscal mind set when planning programs 
 
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
·  Maintains close contact with the population and guests served.
·  Continually evaluates the effectiveness of the BASE and Day Camp programs, policies, and procedures from the   standpoint of customer and participant response.  In light of these findings, makes recommendations to the Director of Recreation as appropriate to improve the program’s effectiveness and efficiency.
·  Ensures a high-quality customer service experience 
· Responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with BASE and Camp Manager, Director of Recreation, customers, co-workers, school district staff, Park District staff and Executive Director.
