Qualifications: An Associate’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or Recreation Management is required. Experience as an early childhood educator or working with camps is also required. Experience in the recreation, camp, or early childhood field at an administrative level is preferred.

Duties: Assist in the recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of all personnel and teachers in the early childhood programs. • This position will spend significant time in the classroom working side by side with teachers. (10-25 hours/week but may vary situationally) • Responsible for assisting in securing supplies and recording the purchase of program supplies • Responsible for innovation programs within the program and in supplement of the early childhood program. • Support and promote all safety, health and loss control policies of the Glencoe Park District • Conduct program orientation for parents • Assist in the preparation and justification of the annual budget for all areas of responsibility • Follow up on any missed payment of fees and tuition to ensure prompt reconciliation. • Review and summarize incidents and reports relating to health, safety and loss control policies and procedures • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and loss control policies and procedures of the District • Ensure all personnel are provided necessary training and documentation regarding safety, health, and loss control policies and procedures of the District. • In cooperation with the Early Childhood Program Manager, ensure compliance with all DCFS policies, procedures, and requirements • Develop an atmosphere of support for the program within the geographic area of the community • Act as a professional representative of the Glencoe Park District through frequent and positive interactions with parents and program participants. • Maintain communication with the Early Childhood Parent Committee and area organizations

Days & Hours: Typical work hours for this position varies: Either 6:45am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 10:30am-6:30pm Monday-Friday. Due to the nature of park district programming, evening, weekend, and some holiday hours are to be expected and it is likely that the work week may exceed 40 hours.
