Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Early Childhood Program Manager is responsible for overseeing Preschool, the Early Learning and Care Center (ELC), preschool-aged camps, safety town, tot classes, and enrichment programs for the District. Programs are conducted at various locations throughout the District, including the Triphahn Center, Willow Recreation Center, and various parks. This position supervises part-time preschool and ELC teachers, seasonal staff, and serves as a point person for communication with contractual service providers.
HEPD is a gold-medal winning, distinguished, and CAPRA accredited agency currently seeking an experienced, motivated, dynamic individual to lead and grow operations in the early childhood department of the recreation division. HEPD currently enrolls over 300 children annually in the ELC and Preschool programs. The ideal candidate for this position will be enthusiastic, creative, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to continue the success of these DCFS-licensed and accredited programs.
A minimum of two years programming experience, teaching experience, or a combination thereof required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field is required. Must meet the minimum requirements for DCFS Director status. Valid Driver’s License is required. CPRP preferred. Experience with VSI RecTrac, FinTrac, MainTrac, and BS&A Financial Software strongly desired.
