Seasonal Interpreter Pre-professional - Kline Creek Farm - Monday-Friday

Job purpose
This position builds a personal connection between the site and the visitors, including bringing site specific knowledge and incorporating general information to provide context, and coordinate daily programming, small and large events, and unique experiences.
This position will help with the day camp at Kline Creek Farm leading activities for kids.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Working with the Farmhands Day Camp guiding groups of children in games, chores, and cooking activities
common on a turn of the century farm.
• Interpret Kline Creek Farm to visitors by giving tours.
• Cleaning program areas including mopping the Summer kitchen.
• Greeting visitors at the Visitor Center.
• Operating the museum store.
• Help care for museum artifacts and livestock.
• Assist with programs.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
Physical Demands: Ability to lift/move up to 60Ibs. (i.e. program material including washstands, barn beams, bushels of
corn, hay bales, etc.
Work Environment: Outdoors in all types of weather conditions
Additional Information: Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire; possession of a valid driver's license.
Hours: 2 positions working June - August.; Monday - Friday, 7:45am - 4:15pm.
Requirements.: Completed a minimum of 3 years of undergraduate studies in Museum Studies, History, Education, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience. This position will wear historic clothing provided by the district but will need to provide historically accurate shoes.
Preferred Candidate: One season of experience working with children in an educational or recreational program or one season of museum interpretation.
