AQUATICS MANAGER

POSITION: FULL TIME

Starting salary range: $45,000 - $52,000 annually based on qualifications & experience.

OVERVIEW

In collaboration and under the general supervision of the RiverPlex Supervisor, the Aquatics Manager is responsible for a number of specific tasks as outlined below.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for all aspects of operations and maintenance of aquatics including: the AquaPlex, Gwynn Family Aquatic Center and Proctor Pool.

• Plans, develops, implements, supervises and evaluates pool programs.

• Plans, schedules and supervises the swim lesson program.

• Schedules, supervises and evaluates all pool staff.

• Recruits, hires and trains all aquatic staff.

• Prepares periodic reports and provides accurate information for marketing materials.

• Performing all other duties as assigned.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree required with a major in Physical Education/Recreation or related field. Although a degree is preferred, extensive aquatic experience in a like position with similar duties and responsibilities may be substituted for all or part of the educational requirement.

• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in aquatic facility management required.

• Certifications in National Pool & Waterpark Lifeguard Training (NPWPLT), Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator preferred; or ability to become certified.

• Understanding of basic philosophy underlying a sound community aquatic program.

• Extensive knowledge of aquatic facility operations, including scheduling, programming, swim lessons, maintenance and basic management procedures.

• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

• Some evenings and weekends will be required.
