Responsibilities: The position is responsible for performing manual skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks primarily focused on, but not limited to custodial and cleaning of over 20 park restrooms, picnic shelters and park maintenance facilities, garbage removal, dog park maintenance, closing lakefront gates, and snow removal. Tasks occasionally may also include ballfield preparation, routine landscaping, turf maintenance, manual weeding, tree and shrub maintenance and removals, maintenance of pavement and paths, beach cleaning, maintaining outdoor ice rinks, lakefront and summer facility preparation and maintenance, planting, light construction, painting, equipment repairs, pesticide applications, and assisting in natural areas restoration. Occasional assistance to Specialist with aspects of building and facilities.

Requirements: Successful applicant must be a high school graduate, possess a valid drivers’ license, and be a minimum of 18 years of age. Prefer landscaping experience or trades certification and education. Required to operate power tools and machinery. Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and team-oriented communication skills. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Ability to work cooperatively with public in a customer service-oriented agency. Ability to work in various weather conditions year-round.

Classification: Full-Time, non-exempt

Schedule: Normal workweek Sunday through Thursday. Typically, 40 hours per week. Hours typically afternoon and evening; schedules will adjust with seasonal workloads and needs. Evening hours required.
