About us
The Elk Grove Park District is located in Elk Grove Village, a northwest suburb of Chicago, just 10 minutes from O'Hare International Airport. The Elk Grove Park District maintains approximately 473 acres, including 43 parks and a community athletic field that includes football, soccer and baseball fields, 19 public tennis courts and several facilities.
Its premier facility is the Jack A. Claes Pavilion. The Pavilion community center amenities include a 28-foot Carousel, Jump n' Jiggles indoor playground, Pavilion Fitness Centre, Garden Terrace Banquets facility, arts and craft rooms, dance studios, racquetball courts, two gymnasiums, one outdoor and two indoor swimming pools.
The Park District also operates the Sheila Ray Adult Center, Preschool, Rainbow Falls Waterpark, Pirates' Cove Children's Theme Park, Fox Run Golf Course and Driving Range, Elk Grove Historical Museum and Rainbow Falls Community Center, which houses teen activities and various programs.
Job Summary
Responsible for managing all aspects of the facility including golf, driving range, clubhouse operations with special attention given to food and beverage management, event planning and rentals. Position develops operating policies and procedures and directs the work of all department managers. Implements and monitors the budget, monitors the quality of products and services, and ensures maximum customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manages the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each assigned service area; establishes appropriate service and staffing levels, and allocates resources in accordance with park district policy.
Reviews income and costs relative to goals; takes corrective action as necessary, to drive profitability.
Manages the development and day-to-day administration of the department’s annual operating and capital budgets, and forecasts revenues/expenditures.
Responsible for overall membership services to ensure an outstanding experience for all Fox Run members and guests.
Fosters relationships with all members and welcomes all new guests.
Oversees business processes and maintains strong internal controls for revenue collection, procurement, payroll/leave administration, and loss prevention functions within the department.
Establishes and updates standard operating policies and procedures; and initiates and monitors overall compliance by staff.
Continually analyzes industry trends, customer feedback, and local competition; makes recommendations to adjust programs or services accordingly.
Drives customer loyalty by ensuring the highest standards of quality and service are met on a daily basis.
Actively promotes the golf course, driving range and clubhouse facilities by reviewing, approving, and implementing marketing plans and promotional events or activities.
Ensures that physical assets and facilities are kept in a state of good repair by coordinating all in-house and contracted maintenance projects and planning for and allocating resources for the on-going maintenance and future replacement and/or upgrade of capital items.
Consistently assures that the department is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
Oversees all clubhouse operations including food and beverage, rentals and simulators.
Oversees all maintenance and upkeep of golf course grounds and driving range grounds, providing direction for facility maintenance and planning operations.
Develops and oversees an innovative instructional program for junior, group and private lessons by developing professional golf staff.
Manage video gaming operations with gaming contractor including marketing and compliance with state and local laws.
Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Business Administration or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Three (3) or more years of demonstrated success as a golf course manager or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Valid Illinois Driver’s License. Basset Liquor Control Certification. Safe food service certification, CPR and First Aid Certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
