Duties: Responsible for the planning, organization, and overall management of a wide variety of recreation programs, activities, and facilities. Including but not limited to all programs for individuals with disabilities, special events, aquatics, athletics, senior, adult and youth programs and activities, outdoor recreation, bus trips, and martial arts. Works with other Recreation Department staff to facilitate inclusion of individuals with disabilities into general programming. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Parks Administration, Therapeutic Recreation or related field. Candidate will possess proven leadership skills, creativity, and ability to manage projects and staff. Experience in recreation programming, special event coordination, athletic coaching, aquatics and facility management preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities required. Certifications desired: Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP), Inclusive Recreation Specialist or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor/Trainer, Water Safety Instructor/Trainer or willing to obtain certifications upon employment.
