Recreation Intern (Summer 2023)

The Carol Stream Park District is seeking an energetic, motivated college student in the field of recreation to serve as our Summer Recreation Intern. Hands-on educational experiences and exposure to many aspects of park district management will be offered. Events and projects will be completed for a variety of recreation divisions.

Salary & Benefits include:

- $15.00/hour

- Approximately 40 hours per week.

- Complimentary Fitness Center, Dog Park, and Coral Cove Water Park membership.

Days & Hours:

- 12+ week internship (May - August).

- Primary hours are Monday-Friday, between 9am-5pm, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

Qualifications:

- College student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or a related field.

- Minimum of two years of undergraduate coursework completed.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Self-motivated with a mature, professional, and positive attitude.

- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

- Valid Illinois driver’s license.

- Completion of a post-offer background check, driver’s abstract, and drug test.
