Recreation Supervisor - Camps, Rentals, General Youth Programming

Job Summary:

The Buffalo Grove Park District is seeking a Recreation Supervisor who will directly oversee our Day Camps, Indoor Facility Rentals, and General Youth Programming. The ideal candidate should have previous supervisory and youth programming experience. This individual will need to have leadership capabilities, management skills (overseeing a team of 25+ part-time staff), and the ability to develop and provide a positive customer experience. The ability to work well with others (in a variety of capacities), as well as being detail-oriented and a problem-solver are essential. In addition, the Recreation Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and organizing other programs as assigned. This position reports directly to the Superintendent of Recreation and is a full-time, exempt position with a normal workweek of 40 hours.

Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. degree in Park and Recreation Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum three years of full-time experience in supervision of recreation programs or significant combination of full time and part time experience in related field.

• Professional Certification (CPRP) through the National Recreation and Park Association is preferred.

• Prior supervisory experience and a proven track record of effective leadership skills required.

Starting Salary Range:

$50,000 - $62,000 D.O.E.
