Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Grounds, the Grounds Maintenance worker is directed to perform a variety of basic park maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

High School graduate or GED with 1-2 years experience in grounds maintenance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

- Removes garbage from all parks and playground areas.

- Mowing and trimming of all parks with tractors and hand mowers.

- Turf maintenance.

- Planting and trimming trees, shrubs, and flowers.

- Painting picnic tables, benches, and buildings.

- Remove snow from parking lots, and sidewalks.

- Work on baseball and soccer fields when assigned.

- Assists in the setup and take down of district special events.

- Performs other similar or related park duties as required or assigned.

Additional Job Requirements:

- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.

- Walking and bending for sustained periods of time.

- Complete work in a timely manner.

- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.

- Work weekends, evenings, or holidays when assigned.

- Follow all Park District safety policies and regulations.

- Attend educational programs when required.
