The Round Lake Area Park District is seeking an energetic, innovative, and fun-loving Superintendent of Recreation. The Round Lake Area Park District is located in the northwest suburbs of Lake County, Illinois. We consist of five district communities, have over 60 parks sites, operate a nature museum, children’s museum, outdoor aquatic facility, preschool, indoor soccer field, 18-hole golf course, and ample indoor recreation space.

The Superintendent of Recreation is responsible for the overall supervision of the district’s recreation department which currently includes but is not limited to:

Supervision of four full-time staff members.

Recreation budget of approximately 1.5 million in expenditures.

District recreation programs; special events, athletics, performing arts, seniors, youth, and nature programs.

The Superintendent of Recreation will work closely with other district department heads to create and provide well-rounded recreation opportunities to our diverse community. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years of progressive experience in a public recreation setting, have strong leadership and communication skills, and a good understanding of recreation programming.
