The Norridge Park District is seeking a Superintendent of Recreation to lead and support the recreation department, grow programs and activities, connect with the community and further develop their own skills while working alongside a fantastic team.

The district has many capital projects you will be a part of. Construction begins in August on the department's $9 million aquatic facility project, in addition to outdoor court renovations, community center improvements and indoor basketball court upgrades scheduled for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Norridge Park District is a small district serving the Village of Norridge and portions of Harwood Heights, approximately 15,500 residents. The park district is a vital agency to the community's residents and surrounding adjacent area, offering open park space, facilities, programs, special events and more. Facilities include an outdoor aquatic facility, five ball fields, outdoor tennis/basketball/in-line hockey courts, recreation center, playgrounds, dance studio, rental spaces, early childhood program and much more.

The Superintendent of Recreation is responsible for the overall supervision of the district’s recreation department which currently includes but is not limited to: Supervision of full-time staff members. Aquatics, athletics, special events, youth, seniors, dance, and general programming. Approximate $1.3 million recreation budget

The Superintendent of Recreation works closely with the Early Care / Preschool, Finance/HR and IT, and Parks department heads to create and provide recreation programs, facilities and experiences for the community. Our ideal candidate will have three to five years of progressive experience in a public recreation setting, strong leadership and communication skills, and a good understanding of recreation programming.
