Since Arrowhead Golf Club’s historic opening in 1927, it continues to offer a superb golf experience to its guests. The course is comprised of three nine-hole courses where guests can experience the feel of a private club at one of the finest municipal courses in the state.

The Position:

This position assists the Golf Course Mechanic with the implementation of the golf course’s comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This program includes the repair of equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The assistant mechanic is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance of the building.

The Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, we are looking for:

  • Minimum of a high school graduate or GED plus at least two (2) years’ experience in the mechanics field required which includes light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses; maintaining reel-type mowers including equipment used to sharpen reel blades and bed knifes; diesel and gasoline engines and repairs; arc, acetylene, and mig welding procedures; and use of automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Equipment Management Certificate program Level 1 preferred.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite for email and record keeping.
  • Must have great problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment.
  • Must be able to work long hours during peak season.
  • Must be able to move equipment, tools, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to frequently be exposed to chemicals, fumes, or airborne particles; potential toxic items; grease and oil; moving mechanical parts.
