ABOUT US: The Glenview Community Ice Center is a facility of the Glenview Park District. It recently reopened in September 2020. It is a 85,000 square foot facility with 2 ½ sheets of ice. It has a full-service pro shop and restaurant. This new facility offers a wide variety of figure skating, hockey, and rental opportunities for the community.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing and operating Glenview Community Ice Center, including facility, grounds, equipment, mechanicals, programming (figure skating, hockey, broomball, public skate, off-ice training, martial arts), rentals and relationships with support organizations, as well as vendors for the pro shop and food and beverage operations.  Accountable for profit & loss of all financial areas and business plans.  Responsible for budget of approximately $2.7 million. Direct supervisory responsibility for Manager of Program Services, Facility & Operations Supervisor, Full Time Tradesworker, part time maintenance staff, and night/weekend supervisor (MOD).  Indirect responsibility for 4 FT employee and many PT employees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, public administration, business, or a related field required.  At least 5 years of related experience, preferably in the area of facility or program management. Supervisory experience required. Prior supervisory experience and a proven track record of effective leadership skills a must. Critical thinking, strong business acumen, analytic ability, excellent communication and organizational skills, strong technical ability (MS Outlook and MS Office) all required. Professional certification(s) and/or active membership in a professional association desirable.  Valid Illinois driver’s license required.

 

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a full time, salaried position.  Daily schedule will vary based on facility hours of operation which will include nights and weekends based on program and facility needs. Target hiring range is $96,000-$105,000, DOQ (commensurate with qualifications and experience).
