Position Summary
Under the direction of the Fleet Manager, the Maintenance Fleet position is responsible for preventative maintenance and upkeep of the Park District fleet. The district's fleet consists of 43 vehicles, 21 large equipment units and 186 small equipment items. Overtime will be required as needed. The Maintenance Fleet position is in the Parks Department and is a full-time, full-benefited, non-exempt position.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate from vocational school supplemented by an approved apprenticeship or training in mechanical repair
- A.S.E. certification preferred or acquired within two (2) years of employment
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of demonstrated success as a mechanic or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- Must provide own tools
- Valid State of Illinois Driver's License CDL Class B is required within twelve (12) months of employment

The hourly rate for this position is $21.99/hour to $23.56/hour, dependent on qualifications. This position is Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Employment contingent upon successful criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical. Palatine Park District participates in Department of Transportation random drug and alcohol testing program.
