FLASH Manager

The FLASH Manager is a full-time, exempt position. The position will oversee the Oak Lawn Park District’s FLASH Before & After School Program.

ABOUT US
The Oak Lawn Park District, incorporated in 1944, has a long and proud history of serving the recreational needs of our 56,000 residents with a myriad of recreational programs and services. We operate under the state tax cap as a municipal corporation, meaning we are our own taxing body. Overseen by a Board of five elected officials, the District manages a combination of 34 parks and facilities which cover over 280 acres. In addition, we manage a Special Recreation Cooperative that offers recreational programs and services to individuals with disabilities in 9 municipalities.

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited university with a bachelor’s degree in recreation or a related discipline. At least two years of work experience in the field of recreation is desirable.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 Will work harmoniously with Ridgeland School District 122 and Oak Lawn Hometown School District 123 to provide the FLASH Before & After School Program.
 Learn and utilize RecTrac software.
 Hire, staff and train 40+ seasonal staff to facilitate the FLASH Program.
 Complete needed staff-related functions such as scheduling, payroll, and evaluations.
 Provide excellent customer service to the families in the FLASH Program by offering quality care, a safe environment and flexible options to accommodate as many families as possible.
 Closely monitor FLASH billing and household balances to ensure timely payments.
 Follow up in a timely manner on delinquent payments and address according to policy.
 Work with the PR & Marketing Department to create advertisements and promotional materials for programming on a regular basis.
 Will evaluate non-contracted programming and operations on a regular basis to ensure we are meeting or exceeding the required 30% profit margin on revenue to cover overhead expenses.
 Assist in fulfilling agency’s mission, vision, and strategic plan, including attending any related meetings or performing any related job duties.
 Obeys and enforces District safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program that is pertinent to the activities conducted by the department.
 Work during mandatory Oak Lawn Park District holiday events.
 Attend meetings with other departments in the park district to keep informed of events within the district.
