Day-Time Lifeguard/Cashier – Part-Time, IMRF Eligible

Glenview Park District is looking to hire lifeguard staff to work at Splash Landings Indoor Aquatic Center located at Park Center.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain vigilant surveillance of aquatic activities for guest safety
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed
Monitor pool chemical levels and assist with sanitation
Perform operational duties to enhance the guest experience
Performing front desk responsibilities such as selling daily admission and swiping pool memberships, conducting cash transactions, communicating and enforcing pool rules and policies, and delivering outstanding customer service to our guests

Job Details (Pay, Experience, Age, Certification):

Premium wage of $18.50/hour during designated hours at Splash Landings (year-round: Mon-Fri from 5:30am-2pm). Weekend and afternoons begin at $16.00/hour for lifeguard shifts and $18.00/hour for cashier.
No Experience Needed: Glenview Park District provides all training you need – you’ll be fully trained and certified before your first day of work
Must be at least 18 years old by the first day of work.
Flexible Schedules: We offer adaptable hours ranging from 4 to 35 hours per week, allowing you to choose shifts that work for you!
Day-Time Shift times include: 5:30am-7am, 7am-11am, 11am-2pm, 2pm-4pm
Evening Shift times include: 4:00-6:00pm, 6:00-8:00pm
Weekend Shifts include: 7am-10am, 10am-1pm, 1-4pm

Training Details:

Candidates need to complete the StarGuard Elite certification course offered by Glenview Park District. This course is offered as online blended learning that includes in-person training that takes place over three days. The cost of the class is $40.00. By the end of the course, candidates will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of all practical skills, pass a written exam and complete swim assessment (Swim 200 yards (8 lengths of the pool) using front crawl and/or breast stroke, treading and retrieve brick from bottom of pool).
