JOB SUMMARY
The main purpose of this program is for the student to gain practical experience in the field of recreation management over a comprehensive 12-week internship program. The Recreation Intern will be assisting supervisory staff in the planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluation of assigned activities to provide a comprehensive district-wide experience in recreational programs and events for individuals and groups of all ages, utilizing effective communication within the multiple departments of the park district operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Individual must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and be currently working towards a degree in recreation administration, recreation management, sports management, exercise science, or similar related field. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and able to deal with conflict resolution and customer service. Ability to obtain a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
