JOB SUMMARY

The Facility Trades Manager is responsible for the maintenance and daily operations of the district’s facilities and infrastructure. The position manages full and part-time staff, oversees the trades maintenance shop, facilitates the efficient completion of maintenance tasks, and ensures safety standards are met. The hiring salary range is $64,000 – $74,000, DOQ.

Primary Duties

●        Facilities the efficient completion of maintenance tasks
●        Manages maintenance personnel including recruiting, hiring, training, disciplining and evaluating
●        Assigns maintenance tasks, supervises and trains facilities maintenance employees
●        Oversees internal and contracted projects at discretion of Superintendent of Parks
●        Assists with snow removal operations
●        Oversees expenses and follows purchasing policy procedures
●           Creates the personnel budget for the staff overseen by the Facility Trades Manager position
●           Assists in developing budget requirements for playground and facility maintenance operations
 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years relevant facilities maintenance experience with two years of supervisory experience. A strong background in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a valid Illinois driver’s license is required.


SCHEDULING
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday-Friday. Some nights and weekends are required, including a rotating on-call schedule, special events, and snow removal operations.
