The Opportunity:The Park District is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, organization and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering high quality, detailed cleaning services that meet our sanitation standards and ensure a welcoming environment for all occupants.  
What you get:  

In exchange for your time and talent, this full-time, exempt position pays $20.00 per hour. This is position is represented by the Laborers’ International Union Local 681. This position also offers:

Schedule:

Monday to Friday 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
 
Essential Functions:  

·       Perform general cleaning including but not limited to scrubbing, dusting, polishing, vacuuming and sanitizing surfaces using chemicals and power equipment

·       Address hard-to-reach areas, corners and crevices to ensure thorough and detailed cleanliness 

·       Sets-up equipment for daily building activities such as chairs, tables, mats, sporting equipment, etc. 

·       Restock supplies

·       Complete written reports 

·       Follow all safety protocols and adhere to District cleaning standards 

 About you:  

·       Previous custodial or janitorial experience with an emphasis on detail cleaning preferred

·       Familiarity with cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies

·       Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.

·       Ability to work independently and part of a team

·       Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. 

·       Valid Illinois driver’s license
