Superintendent of Human Resources

The Lombard Park District is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented leader to join our team as the Superintendent of Human Resources. The Superintendent of Human Resources is responsible for strategic, administrative, and analytical management for the Lombard Park District. This position is opening due to an upcoming retirement, and as part of the transition, the role is being restructured to align with the District’s evolving needs. The anticipated start date is on or around May 12, 2025, to allow for a smooth transition and training period.  

Under the administrative direction of the Director of Finance and Personnel, the Superintendent of Human Resources oversees hiring, compensation and employee benefits, performance evaluation, employee relations, workplace policies, and leave administration. The Lombard Park District has 42 full-time employees, approximately 150 year-round part-time employees, and approximately 300 seasonal part-time employees.  

The mission of the Lombard Park District is to provide quality recreation opportunities for all to enjoy life. The Lombard Park District is an Illinois Distinguished Accredited agency governed by an elected board. The District is a past winner of the National Gold Medal award from the National Recreation and Park Association and is a CAPRA Accredited Agency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Human Resources. Minimum of five years of progressive Human Resource experience is required. SHRM certification is preferred. 

We offer competitive compensation with a starting salary of $78,170 (+ DOQ) based on experience and qualifications. The full salary range for this position is $78,170 - $119,731. Our benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending account, 457 plan(s), IMRF Pension, tuition reimbursement, vacation, holidays, sick time, and personal days.
