The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to help guide the advancement of the District’s mission as its first Deputy Executive Director. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a conservation ethic, demonstrate considerable knowledge of legislation and regulations affecting forest preserves, have Director level experience in a similarly sized government organization, and be familiar with government finance practices. Additionally, interested individuals will have:
- A B.S./B.A. in public administration or a field equivalently appropriate to lead in a government organization;
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience in a natural resource based or other public agency; or
- Any satisfactory combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.

The compensation range for this position is $133,452 – $175,094, with starting pay negotiable up to the midpoint.
