Mechanical Maintenance Specialist - Aquatics, Facilities, & Utilities

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist -  Aquatics, Facilities, & Utilities oversees the maintenance, operations, and repairs of our Aquatic Center systems, park amenities, and infrastructure. This hands-on role ensures facility functionality, public safety, and a high-quality visitor experience across our Parks and Aquatic amenities. This position oversees and maintains essential mechanical systems including pool filtration and chlorination systems, park irrigation networks, pumps, motors, maintenance and repair of village sanitary sewer system including sewers, forcemains and lift stations, and related infrastructure. This role ensures all facilities and infrastructure meet safety and operational standards while supporting a high-quality experience for all Park and Aquatic Center visitors. This role assists with landscape maintenance across our park system and other duties as assigned, including operational set-up for special events

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled with a strong mechanical aptitude or pool operation experience. Candidates must be self-motivated, possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and facility operations.

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; preferred candidate has vocational or technical training
  •  Experience: 3-5 years of mechanical and/or facility maintenance experience or pool operational experience. (or sufficient combination of education and experience) 
  •  Certification: Possesses a valid Class B commercial driver’s license or ability to obtain within 6 months; Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification preferred or must be willing to obtain in 6 months
