Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager, under the guidance of the General Manager, is responsible for assisting with Tennis & Fitness staff, all programs, and the basic operation of our two facilities. This full time management position’s hours will vary depending on program demands but will generally total a minimum of 37.5 hours per week; evenings and weekends may be required.

- Oversee the everyday operations of the facilities.
- Implement departmental-specific goals for Tennis and Fitness.
- Oversee Tennis & Fitness club memberships, membership policies and procedures, member communications and publications, member tracking, member concerns, recruitment, and retention programs.
- Manage quality customer service policies and procedures set by the general manager.
- Oversee club and program registration, policy, and procedures.
- Coordinate Tam Tennis junior programming, scheduling, and staffing under the guidance of the general manager.
- Handles customer service inquiries and staff concerns.
- Supervise Tam Tennis & Fitness staff and schedule the Fitness desk part-time staff.
- Assist in staff meetings and trainings.
- Assist with preparing for the budgeting process.
- Assist with monitoring program revenue throughout the year.
- Monitor payroll allocations when the general manager is not available.
- Under the direction of the General Manager, order, receive, issue, and maintain an accurate inventory of all supplies and equipment necessary for the successful operation of programs and the facility.
- Assist in coordinating brochure and marketing materials for related programs.
- Under the supervision of the general manager, helps to maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or parks and recreation.
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
- Experience in recreation/fitness facility management.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Computer knowledge, including Rec-Trac software.
- Good communication skills and able to work well with others.
- Passionate about the recreation/fitness field.
- Marketing and development skills a plus.
- CPR, First Aid certified.
- The Assistant Manager may need to respond to situations quickly and accurately
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. as needed.
