JOB SUMMARY
Our Maintenance II positions are responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, painting, landscaping and seasonal duties while providing leadership to other maintenance employees. This position will have an emphasis on Athletic Field Maintenance along with other duties as assigned.
 
JOB DUTIES TO INCLUDE: 
·      Maintain athletic fields including lining, grooming of fields, fences, dugouts, goals, infields, bases and nets
·      Perform general preventive maintenance and repair (including irrigation, minor plumbing and electrical)
·      Familiarity with heavy equipment operation
·      Perform all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, ice rink maintenance, etc.)
·      Perform set-up and teardown for programs and special events
·      Maintain all tools, equipment and machinery, as necessary
·      Complete all assigned tasks independently and will include specific sports field maintenance tasks such as mowing, weed  trimming, ball field grooming and lining of sports fields, and out of season tasks such as snow plowing, general equipment maintenance and other assigned tasks as required
·      Routinely inspect park furnishings and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, picnic tables, bleachers, grills, benches, backstops, etc.) – identifies and repairs or reports any failures or hazards
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess high school diploma or equivalent along with at least 2-4 years of relevant experience. Valid IL Driver’s License required along with ability to obtain snowplow, safe operation and towing of a trailer and forklift certifications within six (6) months of employment.
 
SCHEDULING & PAY
This is a full-time, year-round, hourly (non-exempt) position working Sunday through Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is subject to change with seasonal requirements. Additional availability required for overtime, special events and weather-related duties. The hiring range for this position is $27.40/hour to $30.00/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
