General Trades - Pools
The Arlington Heights Park District is seeking a skilled and dependable General Trades Worker – Pools to join our team. This position is responsible for performing water chemical testing, maintaining chemical balances, and ensuring pool systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of pool operations, plumbing, filtration systems, and general trades such as carpentry, HVAC, painting, and fabrication. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The range for this position is $25.20-$35.00 per hour. The anticipated hiring rate is $28.00-$30.00 per hr. with the capability of overtime.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Performs water chemical testing analysis and adjusts chemical balances of pools using prescribed methods of chemical sanitation, following applicable state and local regulations
- Maintain records of water quality, water usage, and chemical usage of Park District pools
- Maintains and repairs pool circulating pumps, water sample pumps, chemical feed pumps, and filtration systems
- Cleans, repairs and paints the pool surfaces while wearing applicable PPE including respirator.
- Performs backwashes and maintenance of pool filters and related equipment
- Assists in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and piping systems for pool operations
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or G.E.D. with experience in one or more building or shop trades
- Minimum of two- three year's experience in one or more building or shop trades
- Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- Class C driver’s license required within 9 months of hire. CDL preferred but not required.
- Certified Pool Operator certification required within 6 months of employment
- CPR and AED Certification required within six months of employment
