JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics General Manager, the Aquatics Program Supervisor is responsible for the planning, coordination, and oversight of year-round aquatic programming at the Vaughan Athletic Center and seasonal programming Splash Country Water Park and Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of swim lessons, aqua exercise classes, aquatic camps, and special events, as well as the supervision, training, and scheduling of program staff. The Aquatics Program Supervisor is responsible for ensuring high-quality customer service while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for participants and guests. Additional responsibilities include preparing financial reports, conducting research, evaluation, and analysis related to program fees, participation trends, and community needs, and completing program-related correspondence and documentation. The Aquatics Program Supervisor directly oversees the IMRF Aquatics Program Coordinator, part-time Water Aerobics Instructors, Aquatic Camp Counselors, and Swim Instructors. This is an at-will position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field with a minimum of three years of aquatic management and programming experience or equivalent experience and/or training. AFO or CPO certification preferred. The ideal candidate will hold or be able to obtain a certification as an Ellis Lifeguard Trainer. Knowledgeable in IDPH and PDRMA regulations related to aquatic operations, water chemistry, etc. Excellent customer service skills, along with strong and effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong math skills with previous budgeting experience required. Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite with aptitude to learn other applications. Experience in RecTrac Recreation and Munis software is a plus. Must have strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have a valid IL driver’s license and provide own transportation.
