Accessibility Specialist
The Accessibility Practice at WT Group AEC, LLC helps park districts, SRAs, cities, counties, and states across the country on the path to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Join John McGovern and the team as we work in Illinois, Iowa, North Carolina, Connecticut, Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Ohio, Texas, South Carolina, New Mexico, and Maryland to make parks and facilities accessible and programs and policies inclusive.
Duties include traveling twice a month to clients for one-week stays, evaluating parks and facilities. Writing site reports in our custom app is integral to the work. Knowledge of access standards and regulations is important and must be learned by the successful candidate. An understanding of the benefits of accessibility is critical. Good communication skills, externally and internally, are critical. Skill as a trainer is preferred as we provide ADA training across the country. Help us help other agencies do the right thing. Some of our staff work out of state, but this is a Metro-Chicago position.
