Recreation Supervisor- Athletics and Fitness
The Wauconda Park District is seeking a motivated individual to build upon our current offerings in both Athletics and Fitness. This position reports directly to the Director of Recreation and is responsible for the development, management, and promotion of Youth and Adult Athletic Leagues, Classes and Camps, Open Gym, the Fitness Center and Group Fitness Classes.

- Supervises paid and volunteer recreation personnel in program activities.
- Develops, promotes and supervises a wide range of recreation programs and fitness classes.
- Introduces new program activities.
- Monitor payroll allocations.
- Train staff in athletic and fitness specific guidelines and on district policies and procedures, including safety.
- Prepare cost analysis budgeting of programs, facilities and activities.
- Prepare reports, statistics and evaluations on programs, facilities and personnel.
- Prepare schedules for staffing in programs, facilities, and events.
- Liaison for youth Athletic Affiliate groups.
- Sits on the Triathlon Committee and assists with organization and registration for both Kids and Adult Triathlons.
- Participates in additional Park District activities and Events that include but are not limited to Wauconda Fest, Easter Egg Hunt, Trick or Treat on Main Street and July 3 Fireworks.
Skills and Qualifications: Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in recreation, education, or related field. At least 2 years relevant experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience desirable. CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain certifications within the first 6 months. Valid Illinois Driver’s License.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a full time exempt (salary) position. Hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm with evening and weekend hours as needed, mostly during summer months and youth basketball season.
