Grounds Worker (Full-Time)

Oakton College is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated full-time Grounds Worker. Reporting to the Supervisor of Grounds, this role maintains and enhances campus grounds and athletic facilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
· Starting Salary: $50,846
· Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, SURS Pension, Flexible Spending Account, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, holidays, sick time, personal days, and paid Fridays off in the summer.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform lawn care, including mowing, trimming turf, and controlling weeds.
· Conduct snow removal to maintain safe campus access.
· Assist with tree trimming and removal.
· Maintain and prepare athletic fields for college use.
· Complete general campus upkeep and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· High school diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
· 2 years of landscaping, groundskeeping, and athletic fields experience.
· Ability to obtain an Illinois State Public Applicator License within 6 months of employment.
· Proficiency in operating landscaping power equipment and hand tools.
· Strong time management, verbal/written communication skills, and general computer literacy.
· Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
