Description: The Norridge Park District is seeking a Full-Time Recreation Supervisor. Responsibilities will include operational, programming and managerial processes for the Norridge Park District athletic and fitness programs and facilities. Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Recreation Supervisor will be responsible for a variety of programming for youth and adults. The District is looking for an effective manager with strong leadership skills, innovative and creative programming ideas, professionalism, highly motivated and capability to work in a team orientated environment.

The Recreation Supervisor will be responsible for the administration, management, supervision, recruitment, training and evaluation of the daily operations for the District’s Fitness Center, athletics, facilities, fields, courts and related programming for all ages. Additional duties include coordinating and assisting with various special events held by the department and marketing for all assigned areas. This position will also be responsible for providing various reports including financial, evaluation and analysis of programs.

Qualifications: The Recreation Supervisor must have a bachelor’s degree in recreation or closely related field and at least one year of experience in fitness or recreation programming - or in a position or organization of comparable scope - and in supervising part-time staff. Excellent written and verbal skills are required, as well as the ability to read, understand and communicate effectively. The most successful candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated with an excellent ability to prioritize tasks, manage staff and apply good judgment to all job duties. Candidate should have basic knowledge of general budgeting and invoicing. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with excellent benefits including IMRF pension.
